Planning Permission granted for new Selco Trade Centre in Solihull

Updated: Nov 30, 2022

‘ttc’ were appointed by Grafton Group Plc to undertake the transport and highways work to develop a proposed new Selco Trade Centre on Ashbourne Way in Solihull, West Midlands.

The project supports Grafton Group Plc’s expansion programme to deliver new Trade Centres across the country, and the store in Solihull will allow them to have a key presence in the West Midlands. We used our excellent working relationship with the Local Highway Authority (LHA) to determine the key highways and transport planning issues with the planning application. 'ttc' then developed and set out a concise and pro-active method to address the concerns of the LHA, which resulted in planning permission being granted. George Bailes, Director at 'ttc' comments, "I have enjoyed working for Grafton Group for a number of years and was pleased with the positive outcome we achieved for them on this project. Our excellent working relationship with the Local Highway Authority was key to turning the project around quickly. It also allowed us to be able to speak directly to the officer involved and really address their concerns, quickly and effectively. I’m delighted we managed to achieve planning permission." Robert Chandler, Senior Project Manager at Grafton says, "I appreciate your (ttc) work on this one, it is clear to me that your part in the process was invaluable in securing the consent".
