The Transportation Consultancy (ttc) completed a 'first of its kind' study on the economic impact study of cycling the White Peak Loop in May 2016. On behalf of Derbyshire County Council and the Peak District National Park Authority, The Transportation Consultancy Ltd. (ttc), in association with the University of Central Lancashire, recently completed the innovative cycling study which is the first of its kind for establishing the economic impact of leisure cycling in the UK. The study developed a methodology which demonstrated the economic impact of the White Peak Loop and quantified the current and potential future economic impacts. The methodology can also be used to quantify the economic impact of the Monsal trail from Bakewell to Wye Dale and ensure that the economic framework is capable of predicting the impact of future cycle routes.
