Planning permission awarded to Old Police Station

TTC contributed to the successful award of planning permission for a residential site of the Old Police Station, West Drayton.

Due for completion in Spring 2018, the Old Police Station is an impressive collection of 53 homes offering fantastic transport links via the soon to be Cross-rail station at West Drayton or the M25 and M4 corridor. As an experienced transport planning consultancy, ttc took a direct role in delivering a detailed transport assessment, travel plan and robust access design, which formed part of the successful planning application.

Due to the ambitions of the client to have the site occupied by 2018, timescales for delivery were tight and ‘ttc’ worked in an efficient and proactive manner to ensure that deadlines were achieved.

Another key element of the project was to identify and assess flood risk, surface water management and drainage. Nimbus Engineering, part of the project team and specialists in this field, carried out a detailed assessment of these areas which was a very important factor in the planning application. Nimbus are specialists in the area of Flood Risk, Surface Water Management and Drainage Design, including Sustainable Urban Drainage (SUD) Design and Reports. They specifically focused on the foul and surface water drainage and sustainable urban drainage systems design element of the project.

Sadia Luckett, Director, Nimbus Engineering, comments, “This project allowed us to provide innovative solutions in order to ensure the client received a cost-effective design solution, which could also be agreed with the Local Planning Authority, in order to received planning permission and discharge the relevant planning conditions. We enjoyed working within the large project team, and were happy to be engaged in this project at an early stage, through to completion”.

Working together the project team developed and submitted a sound planning application, which led to the successful award of planning permission for the London site, due for occupation in Summer 2018.
